VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The newest corvette "Loud" conducted sea trials in the Sea of Japan, the Russian Pacific Fleet spokesman Nikolai Voskresensky said Wednesday.
According to Voskresensky, the tactical and technical characteristics and reliability of the corvette equipment and systems were checked under various conditions.
A rescue tug and the Ka-27 naval aviation helicopter of the Pacific Fleet were involved, he added.
The corvette was designed for patrolling, conducting combat with surface ships and submarines of the enemy and supporting naval assault in the near sea zone.
The length of the ship is 104.5 meters and its width 13 meters. The total displacement is 2.2 thousand tons, and its full speed is up to 27 knots.
