VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- A group of ships from Russia's Pacific Fleet have left Vladivostok for an Asia-Pacific mission that will last over three months, the fleet's spokesman Nikolai Voskresensky said Monday.
"Today, a group of ships from the Pacific Fleet, consisting of the Varyag missile cruiser, the Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine destroyer and the Boris Butoma large sea tanker, embarked from Vladivostok on a long mission in the Asia-Pacific region," said Voskresensky.
The group will visit several foreign ports, Voskresensky added.
The Russian Pacific Fleet is a part of the Russian Navy, based in the city of Vladivostok. It belongs to the Russian Eastern Military District.
