WINDHOEK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Namibia will for the first time host top South African Franchise the Multiply Titans in a two-match T20 cricket series from June 28 to 30 in the coastal town of Walvis Bay and in Windhoek.
The clash between Namibia and the Multiply Titans will be one of the most exciting, extravagant events that Cricket Namibia has ever hosted, Cricket Namibia announced Wednesday.
The country cricket body said this will be an elating event for Namibia as it will be an opportunity to test themselves against the best franchise in South Africa.
"We are very proud to welcome the Titans, as they have set standards to aspire to on and off the field. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship," said Namibia's head coach, Pierre de Bruyn, who is also a former Titan player.
The Multiply Titans will arrive in Windhoek on June 26 and will head to Walvis Bay for three days before heading back to the capital city, Windhoek for the remainder of the tour.
Meanwhile, some of the Multiply Titans players are currently abroad and on international duty in the ICC Cricket World Cup, so a 10 men squad will travel to Namibia, and the team will be bolstered by the services of former South African player, Albie Morkel.
