TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- The renewal of U.S. sanctions against Iran has endangered the Iranian 2015 international nuclear deal, an Iranian deputy foreign minister was quoted as saying by Press TV on Friday.
The repercussions of the return of the sanctions by the United States are worrisome, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, said in the Italian capital of Rome on Thursday.
The nuclear deal would offer the international community the guarantee that Iran would stay committed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, he stressed.
Despite the withdrawal of the Washington from the Iranian nuclear deal in May and subsequent re-imposition of the U.S. sanctions on Iran, the other signatories to the deal, namely Britain, China, France, Russia and Germany have announced their commitments to the deal.
Iran has threatened that it might leave the deal if its interests under the accord are not safeguarded by the parties to the deal.
