AMMAN, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The 15th China Trade Fair kicked off in the Jordanian capital Amman on Sunday, with the participation of more than 80 Chinese exhibitors and 175 booths.
The three-day event was launched by the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang, and the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Tariq Hammouri.
Pan said at the opening of the fair that the participation of a large number of Chinese companies underlines the importance of the Jordanian market for these companies, highlighting Jordan's stability and security in the Middle East.
He added that the ties between the two countries are excellent at all levels, adding that Chinese investments in Jordan are on the rise.
Hammouri said Jordan is a gateway to countries in the Middle East, adding that the kingdom provides incentives and facilities for investments in various areas.
He stressed on the importance of the conference for exchanging expertise and networking between business people from the two countries.
Approximately 15,000 buyers, including over 5,000 from Lebanon, Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine and Sudan, will attend the fair which exhibits products such as textile and garments, furnitures, electrical appliances, lights, decorations that meet the demand of the Middle East market.
The fair, which started from 2004, has been one of the most important trade platform for Chinese enterprises in the Middle East.
China is the third largest trade partner of Jordan as trade exchange reaches over 3 billion U.S. dollars annually.
