BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Zhao Leji Friday met with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed who will attend the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
China has always been committed to its friendly policy toward Somalia and firmly supported Somalia's peace process, said Zhao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC.
China is ready to work with Somalia to take the opportunity of Belt and Road construction to make new achievements in friendly cooperation to better benefit the two peoples, Zhao said.
Somalia is grateful for China's long-time support and assistance, Mohamed said, adding that Somalia is willing to participate in the Belt and Road construction and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in the country.
