BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- A central delegation led by top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng arrived in Beijing Friday after a five-day trip to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China.
The delegation attended a series of events marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and made a few local tours.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited the Xing'an League of the autonomous region earlier on Friday.
He called on people of the league to step up their pace in eliminating poverty and build a well-off society, ensure ecological security in north China and improve people's lives.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the country's first ethnic autonomous region established at the provincial level under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
