TOKYO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Thursday morning as the market mood became cautious after reports that the United States plans a fresh round of tariffs on imports from overseas.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 80.23 points, or 0.35 percent, from Wednesday to 22,886.15.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 7.26 points, or 0.40 percent, at 1,793.11.
Miscellaneous product, mining, and glass and ceramic product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
